What can you use the app for? allows users to share audio and voice content in real time through a Smartphone or computer. Users can broadcast whatever they like, from a business-related conference to a concert, party or hang out session with friends. The site lists broadcasts airing right now as well as those labeled “hottest.” The user can see which shows are live, how long ago they were aired, how many listeners are tuning in and the user name as well as a name or brief description of the broadcast. Broadcast pages include links to past shows as well as a list of comments made by users. Users can post new comments, respond to comments or simply listen to the current or past broadcasts added by the user.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

FlipZu was founded by Lucas Lain and Dario Rapisardi in June of 2010. The application gives users a place to broadcast and attract the attention of a following. Other users can comment and share broadcasts they like so the user gains notoriety while growing their audience. The current application is available on the web and as a mobile version so users have more ways to broadcast and listen in on their favorite users. was shut down in 2012.

The site includes colorful backgrounds that make each page fun and even more interesting. There are advertisements found throughout, however these generally stay off to the side. FlipZu has a fun, upbeat design that allows the user to navigate easily.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can sign in to FlipZu by clicking one of the two buttons located in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage. The first is for Facebook users while the second is for Twitter users. The user must link one of these two accounts to use FlipZu. Users are not required to sign in to listen to broadcasts showcased on the FlipZu homepage. Mobile users can click the Android or App Store buttons near the center of the homepage to access the mobile version of FlipZu.

FlipZu is available to all users for free. There are no subscription fees and the user does not have to pay a fee to listen to broadcasts. Broadcasting is also free. All users are given the same level of access and can return as often as they like.
